Meet Camille Fulton

2017 Legacy & WingTapper Tour Scholarship Winner,

representing the YEA! Tucson and the Tucson Hispanic Chamber Foundation

Meet Camille Fulton...nominated by YEA! Tucson and the Tucson Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Foundation

"Camille started her own business. She was a freshman in high school when she came into YEA! Tucson, from the Vail School District. She had an idea…a really big idea. She's a big vision person, but she understood certain dynamics about the program that maybe weren't keen to other students right away. She really was already showing early signs of having an entrepreneurial spirit but as the program progressed and others were having complications or not taking the information that was provided to them and really utilizing it, she was always the person that took the suggestions and applied them. She followed up and really seeked out her business mentor, asking for help when needed and ultimately was very successful at the pitch competition. She was one of our top earners and, although quiet in the classroom, when she stepped up on stage, she absolutely killed it. She has every attribute that is important and she's got the perfect character to be an entrepreneur,

We're really excited for Camille and this opportunity for her to go to New York and to go to Washington and continue to grow. We're really excited about where she's at today but even more excited to where she's going to be tomorrow."

One day, I'd like to utilize my skills and rise to the top of each individual field. However, a majority of these professions are dominated by a demographic I happen to not be apart of. This makes me the minority. There's very few people in these professions that I can relate to. Therefore, I look for inspiration in other minorities that have the courage to pursue the road less taken.

Why do you want to participate in the 2017 Legacy Tour to DC & NYC, Celebrating Women in History? What do you expect to learn and why do you deserve to go?

The Legacy Tour is a great opportunity for me to explore and learn from influential women of the past and present! As a young woman who aims to become an influential figure in the future, the Legacy Tour will inspire me to push forward. It's important to take note that women in the past who were successful in their careers have set great examples for those of us in the present and in the future. As an entrepreneur, I have the potential to learn about female entrepreneurs who were once in my position. I get to learn from their mistakes and triumphs in order to become the best I can be. The dreams I have about the future seem so distant to me now such as: becoming the CEO of a Fortune 500 company, being Disney's next top Imagineer, or being an important leader in my community-wherever it may be. However, celebrating women who have made similar accomplishments on the Legacy Tour will help me to realize that these dreams can be transformed into reality.

Now, if you had to Tweet us a reason, what would that be?

What inspires you?

Anyone with an aspiration needs inspiration to help themselves reach a goal. For me, I aspire to be many different things and achieve greatness. My ambitiousness has lead me into many different fields such as entrepreneurship, leadership, robotics, architecture, and engineering. I'm also inspired by the influence I'll have on those in the future. I know that once I do become successful, someone else will be inspired by me as well.

What is one thing you need to make your dreams come true?

I constantly dream about the future and my success. I dream of becoming a successful leader, entrepreneur, and engineer. All of these professions are dependent on one thing. A good education. Everyone is aware of the fact that an education is nowhere close to being free. In order to make my dreams a reality, affording an education is key. I've already started to tackle this task by applying for and earning scholarships in addition to starting a small business my freshman year of high school! I hope to afford a full education by maintaining excellent grades in school, taking leadership roles in school clubs, applying for scholarships, competing in competitive tournaments, and running a small business full-time. I'll have the potential to go to schools such as Rice University or MIT. All the while pulling me closer to my dreams of becoming a highly acclaimed professional.
